The free $1
Early sign-ups get $1 of USDG and a little ETH, enough to create an agent and make a real trade.
To try Shijima without buying anything, some wallets can claim $1 of USDG plus 0.00008 ETH (about 30¢) for network fees. That ETH covers creating an agent, putting the $1 in, and taking it out later.
It runs out
There is no fixed number. The card counts how many gifts the gift wallet can still pay, for example 2 left. When it can't pay another, it says All the free dollars are gone.
Who can claim
- You must be signed in. The $1 goes to the wallet you signed in with.
- One claim per wallet.
- One claim per internet connection, ever. We keep a salted hash of the connection's address, not the address itself.
How to claim
Find the card Free $1 to try on your Wallet page, in step 2 of creating an agent, or in the sidebar. Slide Slide to claim your $1.
It says Claimed. It will arrive in your wallet in about a minute. Then Sent: $1 and a little ETH for fees are in your wallet, with links to both transfers on the explorer.
Is $1 enough to do anything?
Yes. Your agent's smallest trade is $0.20, and Shijima pays the network fee for every trade your agent makes. So $1 is enough for a real, live trade you can check on the chain.
Behind the card
The website only writes your claim into a queue. The worker holds the gift wallet's key and sends the USDG first, then the ETH. Each transfer is saved before it is broadcast, so a retry after a restart never pays twice.
